Structure for the Hampshire Leagues for 2009 – 2010

The club has been informed by the Hampshire RFU that as Sandown & Shanklin won their play off and only Petersfield were relegated from the London Divisions the number of clubs left in the Hampshire Leagues, twenty four, was insufficient to run three viable leagues. Also there is pressure from the London Committee to avoid small, seven and eight team leagues.

Hampshire therefore proposes to form two leagues. If all twenty four existing clubs compete the makeup would be:

Better for us as there are 22 'guarenteed' games. So with the cup matches, thats our season. Bring it on.

Hmmmmm. What are the odds a number of those teams won't travel to the Island? Are we compensated if they don't show and yet we travel to them?
Do these teams run second teams? How will it affect our second team fixture list?

Well, they get deducted points if they don't travel so you would imagine most of them will turn up. About 5 of them don't have 2nd teams. We're thinking about the 2nds fixture list at the moment.
